Hi

I was just wondering what are the equipment standards in the 101st Airborne and 75th Ranger Regiment. Can anyone wear whatever they want? I.e. Can they say select their own vests, helmets, boots, gloves, knee/elbow pads, goggles, custom BDUs, body armor, etc.

Are there any restrictions as to what they can or cannot wear? i.e. Everyone MUST wear woodland/3color desert camoflauge and the proper insignia?

Thanks,
Adam

The 101st is a conventional infantry unit, they wear the same BDUs as the rest of the Army. They use the same load bearing equipment as the rest of the Army, i.e. the LBV or MOLLE. As far as boots, as long as the meet the standards as per AR 670-1, they are good to go. That means no Hi-Techs. They use the same body armor as the rest of the Army, the Interceptor and the PASGT or "Kevlar" helmet. Other than that, I would imagine that a soldier assigned to the 101st can wear any goggles, gloves, or knee/elbow pads he wants to, as long as its not off the wall and pisses the CSM off.

they wear the same BDUs as the rest of the Army Are they allowed to customize their BDUs:

They use the same load bearing equipment as the rest of the Army, i.e. the LBV or MOLLE But can they purchase their own vest instead of the LBV/MOLLE?

They use the same body armor as the rest of the Army, the Interceptor and the PASGT or "Kevlar" helmet Is it imperative that they wear just that or could they purchase their own armor such as the Paraclete RAV and their own helmet such as the MICH?

Thanks,
Adam

Nom you will wear the same load bearing equipment as everyone else, Sergeants Major are real sticklers for this sorta thing. No, you cant customize your BDUs, once again, Sergeants Major are real sticklers when it comes to uniformity. That list of modifications looked pretty stupid to me. If you want to wear modified BDUs like those shown on the SWG web site, you'll want to be in SF, not the 101st. As for the helmet, we have a soldier here in my unit in Korea that bought and wears a MICH, so it may be possible. You'll just have to serve in the 101st to find out.

I hear that sometimes they have cock ring and shower shoes formations but I could be wrong. Mainly I'm sure they wear what their SOP tells them to.

You posted the same stuff on two threads, you didn't read the memos and you didn't do any research. And you expected something different how?

Why is it that when I think of "hard", tactically correct airsoft players I also think of "badass", doberman-like poodles?
