Since outing phonies seems to be a bit of a pasttime on here, and I'm pretty sure that almost all of us have run into at least one, we should swap some of the better stories that these losers have told all of us. The more outrageous the better!
What kills me is that these asses don't even know very much about what they're lying about. I've had guys tell me they were in Teams in Vietnam that either didn't exist at the time or have never existed at all (SEAL Team 11 comes to mind). When I asked one guy what his BUD/S class was he told me 71-03. I guess he assumed that BUD/S classe are numbered the same way as other Navy schools.
The stories are usually very gory and often involve dead women and children. Since I know they're a phony they probably think I'm demented when I start laughing.
Oh, I also had one guy told me that he'd broke both his legs was LEFT BEHIND and still walked several miles by himself to be picked up.
Then there was the guy who claimed that he was in Desert Storm and was tethered to his swim buddy, and something happened to his swim buddy on a deep dive that cost his buddy his life, and he had to drag him to the surface. One of my real SEAL friends heard that and just started laughing because the SEALs didn't lose anyone in Desert Storm.
I'm sure the rest of you have some good ones. I'd like to hear them. They're mostly pathetic of course but sometimes they can be quite amusing in their ignorance.
