So how many here went to the SOMA conf. As a first timer I had a good time, the dinner on wed night(?) was pretty sobering as people spoke the names of their brothers that paid the ultimate price.
I was impressed by the info put out,but also dissapointed on some aspects.I expected more vendors than showed up, but the few there generally had good ideas.

Corpsman is a rate for SWCC there are very few of us, about 10-12. Which makes us very busy, as far as medial training goes we attend all the current schools, ranging from OEMS to 18D,as a matter of fact since we started going to 18D SWCC corpsman have had two honor grads.
Of course we give ourselves training on everything from CASEVAC to IV therapy in vehicles and while underway, which is not easy. We operate on all NSW craft and on land. The guys at 20 have the MCADS program which I won't get into, but we work in pretty much every enviroment. The guys at 22 (riverine) pretty much do all the jungle work, but not exclusivley.
I'm pretty proud to be one of the first. We all want to make a good name for ourselves and be the best. Just like everyone else.

I would like to get some tips from some of the SF and Pj's as far as what they do in house to improve training, IE; more realistic, more technical training, yada yada yada.
I look to some of you more experienced guys for info, thats why I lurk on this board quite a bit.:) So anyone with legit info feel free to pm me, or whatever.

Sounds very interesting. Welcome to the Spec Ops Med Board. Obviously, you are more than welcome here. If you look around the posts, you'll see we have a very distinguished panel. Surgeon, PA, Sacamuelas, EMT, Paramedic, and of course medics.

Feel free to post cases, ask questions and hsare experiences. I have have found the corpsmane that operate with the SEALs to be very fine medics, as well as shooters. Sounds like you have had some of the same training.

Again, welcome and dive right in.

LOL - "dive right in" Get it? I crack myself up sometimes.
