View Full Version : What happens to dropouts from BUD/S?

Have done some research on this...
Would like to know, what assignments are given to trainees who flunk out from BUD/S..
I understand that if you drop during Indoc, your tossed back into rank and file, but what if you dropout or DOR after you've completed certain phases?
Hypothetical scenario:
Trainee in final phase, suffers accident of some sort. While not disabling, it'll disqualify him from graduating.
What then happens to him?
Also, if a trainee decided to cross-over to SEALs, but is already Airborne trained (example: 82nd Airborne trooper), is he exempted from going to jump school after BUD/S?
Please excuse any lowercase letters where they should have been upper case.

Who cares? Really? If you want it, do it. Or if this is for a "buddy", tell him the same thing. Who cares where you will go. Either you will become a SEAL, or you will join the ranks of the worlds finest fleet Navy.

THEY GO TO X-DIV
GO AND DO BS WORK FOR THE BASE UNTIL, YOU GET ORDERS AND GO TO THE FLEET. IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT THAT, YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF IN X-DIV AS WELL.

I wouldn't recomend finding yourself in X-Div, but I have used these individuals during mission essential training, for the free worlds greatest demonstrator of power, The US Navy.
Military service is selfless & all who served, in whatever capacity, make a necessary contribution.
However, to serve in the Teams, doesn't suck.
