Non issue Packing list includes Wiley-x (lensesx2), Buttstock clip holder, garmin rino 120, thorlo socks, CFP -90, thinsulate long johns...

what else should I look at?

Don't get the rhino.

Someone with one loses one, enemy picks it up, guess what.. he's got you pegged with the locator capability. Stick with a garmin 12 or a etrex, they work good... motorola radios are nice, but remember they're unsecure.

Well, here goes my first post on the board.
Hope I'm not stepping on any toes.

Don't know about the backorder status on the Belleville Boots.
Several soldiers here ('stan) ordered the 790's (about 3 weeks ago) and got them here in hand today.
Think about a hydration system.
I also hope that your CFP90 is either a LOWE built CFP90, or you have had the hell stitched out of it. You may find that it tends to rip out seams, and straps tend to rip out if you load it and actually use it.

Good Luck
Be Safe

The initial pre- deployment desert issue boots are just the basic run of the mill army stuff. Now that I've arrived in country we got a pair of bellvilles 1 regular and 1 cold weather. So don't burn to much money on them. Also they gave us plenty of cold weather stuff also so I wouldn't worry about that as much either.

Wiley X are a good bet, but also try to pick up a good pair of goggles. Sand storms are a bitch, have heard several bad stories on the WileyX ones and the Oakleys seem to fall apart. Know a few guys that took motorcross goggles and liked them.

Also a good pair of light gloves, Hellstorm, Hatch or mechanics gloves.
