Do all students in the USMC sniper school get the same training or do they designate snipers/observers and train them in their particular skills?

All observers/spotters are snipers.

There is no distinction between the Shooter and the observer while taining at teh Scout/Sniper School. All recieve the same training. It is at the parent unit where the Marine is assigned as either a spotter, or the shooter for the Scout/Sniper team. Often times, it is experiance that determines who holds what billet.

Ahh, ok, thanks. So I'm assuming that students take turns in the sniper and observer roles?

Yes, every student trains as both.
