Does anyone know of any good physical trainers or training schools in central NJ that would be beneficial to someone preping for hopeful upcoming military service. I myself have been preparing physically for some time, but sometimes its always helpfull to have a coach to help you train harder and smarter, i guess youd say. Many times I want to be working more but am not sure if its the right thing or not. Id hope that by June or earlier Ill know exactly where Im going whether its hopefully the USMA, VMI, Norwich or enlisting, so I want to be 110% ready for whatever happens, and Im willing to do whatever it takes.

Alex Wilkie has a martial arts academy in Bridgewater that is excellent. They emphasize a warrior mindset that you would find very helpful in your pursuits. Alex has hosted Denny Chalker, Command Master Chief of SEAL Team Six (ret.), to give you an idea of the kind of dojo it is. The multi-jurisdictional SWAT team I belong to also trains regularly with him. The academy phone number is 732-748-1580.

You would be hard pressed to find a personal trainer that could give you the type of practical strength and conditioning training that you need. You would do well to find yourself someone who has a CSCS Certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist). Someone with these creds in the fitness field is on par with the BTDT's of the military world.

It will cost you a bit more for one of these guys to get you set up on a regimen, but it will make you self sufficient in the gym, and you will know exactly what do to, and in what order to do it. You will not get better advice from a personal trainer.

If you're interested, and cannot locate one on your own, drop me a PM. I'll help ya.
