there is an article on the SAS in Soldier of Fortune of February 1999 by Barry Davies, who wrote The Complete Encyclopedia of the SAS; The SAS Escape, Evasion and Survival Manual; and SAS: the illustrated history. http://www.sofmag.com/2000sof/0200/0200.html

Lets just say, that he's no longer a member of many associations.
Barry Davies, Gods gift to the SAS.

Ive received an email from someone on this list regarding my post re Mr Davies.
My statements made above were not and are not meant min anyway to be a personal attack on Mr Davies.
I do however wish to clarify that it is my understanding, and im re confirming this, that Mr Davies has been ommited from some ex forces associations. I will clarify this in due course.
My post is simply regarding the nature of some of the things Mr Davies has made public. Any one involved in an SF role, will realise that "Op Sec" is the all important part of any operation. While Mr Davies has not breached any "Op Sec" to any real great extent or threat, the majority of what he has published is pretty much old hat, There has been occasion when,in my personal opinion,he has stretched the bounderies of what should be public knowledge, and what shouldn't. I am all for declassifying past operations, but within reason. Mr Davies was very good at his job, he would not have earned the B.E.M. if he wasnt, and this is not an attack on his capabilities as a soldier and in saying that, I must also comment that from what I have seen of his publications, they are very well prepared and concise, but this does not nullify the fact that, once again only my personal opinion, those who decide to make money (we arent talking peanuts here) by breaching their past position of trust, in the way that has been done by Mr Davies, and a number of others, is cause for concern.
Ill leave the issue with this comment, Who of us, didnt sign a legal document, maybe something called the Official Secrets Act, when joining ?
If any one, wishes to correspond on this matter, please fell free to contact me,

Maybe it is because Mr. Davies published a lot of pictures. For sure, the people of the great U.K. needs to know where their tax dollars are going to due to the sad state of the glorious British army (no offense).
MI5 surely enforced the Officials Secrets Act than the FBI in the U.S. does.
