I was looking at buying some scuba pro Jet fins. How is the sizing compared to military boots? Must you go up a size, down a size or is the fin the same size as the boot? Right now I wear a 10.5 belleville boot if that is any help.
Also do the fin sizes account for wearing some sort of dive sock/boot on the foot? Is a dive sock/boot necessary for this model fin or can you get by without it?
Is there any other things I should know about purchasing these fins? Right now the only fins I own are some cheap ones from the sporting goods store and some old churchill body boarding and I purchased them years ago.
The sizing on these fins from the website is
Sizes: M/7-8, L/9-10, XL/11-12, XXL/12+
what do you think would best suit me?

Holy moly, something I know, imagine that.
Yes, you must wear booties, tear your feet up otherwise. I used mine only w/ my dry suit and Mares Avantis for warm and wet diving. Since going to DUI drysuit w/ rock boots I've had to go to IDI turtle fins, their XL is the only thing that fits and I have 11.5 feet.
They're studly and all, and I don't get ribbed by the DIR guys when I use them, but I actually prefer the Mares whe I'm not in a wreck.
ScubaPros run small. If you are using a boot with a hardish sole I'd say get the XL for a 10.5 foot and not the large. I've got a set of XL you can have if you want them, if they don't fit pass them on. EM me with your address and I'll send 'em out within the week.

Wearing 9.5W Jungle boot I use a XLG Jet and a LG Jet with regular booties. The XLG do not fit my new neoprene "water boots" though.

Can anyone recommend a good bootie? I will not be doing any dry suit diving when I get back.

Are you diving off a boat, shore diving, ironshore, sand?
If you are rolling off a boat only, soft neoprene socks are fine. If you are shore diving where there's rock or abraded coral, go for a bootie with a sole. Careful though, do not get a bootie with a soul, they are nothing but trouble. Booties are fungible, get the cheapest thing that looks reasonably well made.
Hoplite, if you PM'd me with your address I missed it, I was notified when I entered the forum but Firefox blocked it and I'm clueless how to find it.

Hoplite, ignore the previous response I saw your email.
Just got issued Teva aquatic sneakers for diving. I'll let you know next week how they work out.

He's in Baghdad, the dive shop is closed during Ramadan. He has to share any gold he finds muck diving in the Tigris with me!
