I have watched the entire video in the uncompressed format and it does not corroborate the allegations this blogger makes. When it comes to France, though, some of you become nothing better than snide little Michael Moore wannabes. Why don't you post Sites' video of the Marine shooting the terrorist in Fallujah and label it "America doing what it does best"?

Soldiers facing a complex and scary situation; we don't know exactly what happened, but our helpful media is there to imply that what happened is that those soldiers (because we all know soldiers are at best misguided kids who can't get real jobs or at worst fascist butchers) must have been the bad guys. Sound familiar?

One difference though. Most French soldiers I know, from Gen. Bentegeat on down, routinely defend the American soldier from the anti-American hate spewed by the French media.

I watched it, you can't see what prompted them to open fire or anything else. I have a season pass on the "Bash France Bandwagon", but I can't play armchair quarterback for troops on the ground, especially based on that video.

But if I'm ever shot in the Ivory Coast, put me out of my misery before their "medics" get to me.

Was it just my imagination, or was one of them wearing a Boy Scout uniform? Probably the best trained.

I lived in france for many years, and I absolutely agree, the military there usually stick up for the american soldiers.

Absolutly no way of telling what happened. Also no way of telling why so many shots were fired, could be like a lot of riots here in the US where most everyone isn't trying to do anything bad but a few are just there to start shit.

It's unfortunate that it happened but there is no way to place blame from the one video.

They don't deserve armchair criticism. West Africa is essentially "Mad Max", just with black folks.


Every French Soldier, not just the Legionnaires, that I've worked with has been GTG, in my opinion. You would not want to go to war against them.
