I went through the Royal Marines Coxswain course in the mid to late 80's. Drove mostly small grey FRP boats with single 140hp Johnson outboards. I have forgotten exactly where it was at in England. I caught a train from London is all I remember. The hospitality and accomodations that you guys gave us was great and we enjoyed working with you. Can you refresh my memory as to where the course was conducted. Thank you in advance.

Is that in Essex as that name sticks in my mind? I remember some awesome cliffs bordering the sea. Also we had some huge storm swells at sea...broke one of the guys back in my boat but then I was probably driving too fast. Only got off base once and many years ago is why the details elude me.
I was one of about ten Americans from the USMC to attend. Not sure if they kept that up or not. Thanks for the info.

I'd say more likely to of been at RM Poole at that time. There are still some US Marines there at the moment. There's an exchange draft that runs I think.
