We are going to be getting the 150's in theatre. Do these units quickly tune to the appropriate freqs, or do they require the use of a field expediant antennae fit for HF. Also, because it's been so long, what's a good general purpose field expediant kit to put together. What are the critical elements, and where is the best place to find cobraheads and fishreels and the like. Any and all input is appreciated.

The 150 tunes quickly and you will get a high VSWR if you don't have a correct antenna setup. Your mast should do fine. Use the internal HF coupler and you should be ok. A good kit might include shielded and unshielded copper wire, dipole connectors, 15 ft of rca cable, grounding wire, metal stake, and paracord. Here to help.
