A friend of mine said there was an age limit? He said, "when you hit the age of 25 they kick you out of the SAS" this true? I don't think it is, but I just wanted to make sure. If anything I think he meens, 25 is the limit on joining the SAS.

Considering you have to be in the service for at least 3 years to even be eligible for Selection, a 25 year old age max for SAS troopers wouldn't give a lot of time to be operational.

You can attend selection up to age 32 or 34, I forget which. As long as you are not RTU'd or medically unfit you can serve until retirement, which for other ranks is normally up to age of 40-42. A warrant officer receiving a late-entry commission within the regiment can continue serving past that age, normally on 5-year increments.

This guy may be confusing the limir with a LOWER age limit if anything! I think the average age in the Regt is something like 30-32. They generally prefer more mature soldiers to go for selection. In fact at one stage there was a requirement of being at least a corporal (or it may even have been a segeant) before they would allow you to even apply!

They don't kick you out at 25. As far as I'm aware, they don't kick you out at all. A typical age when someone chooses to leave is late 30s, early 40s, but it is their choice.
