I was talking to a friend of mine in team 1 and he was telling me that SBU 22 is a tere 1 command(not sure on the spelling) and the teams are tere 2 commands. Now he was obviously refering to money allocations for the commands and i've never heard of this term before is there anyone who can better explain this. And if you do know please tell what makes SBU 22 bigger than a SEAL team as far as money allocation. Thanks

Dear pid, I have been out awhile so my info maybe dated but I think this is how it is now (Frog would know better, he is a former SBU C.O.). When I was stationed at SBU-24 (this also applied to SBUs 20 & 22), we were a subordinate command of SBR-2. SBR-2 was a Tier II command under the control of Tier I NSWG-2. The SEAL Teams (2 and 4) were also under NSWG-2. Now the SBRs have been elevated to Tier I and are on a par with, instead of subordinate to the NSWGs. Both SBR-2 (and all subordinate SBUs) and NSWG-2 (and all subordinate SEAL Teams) report to NavSpecWarCom at Coronado. It is true however that SBR-2 has a larger budget than NSWG-2. This is primarily due to equipment acquisition and maintenance costs (especially the PCs). Is that close Frog?? I hope this helps. Good Day to You & Good Luck with Training!
