I was wanting to get some non-recruiter sourced info regarding what precisely is required of operators in that unit. 37f looks like an interesting job, but before I devote a lot of time and money (I'm self employed and a long deployment would probably kill my business) would like to know as much as possible.

Read the post PSYOP QUESTION. I listed in some detail what PSYOP is about.
The bottom line to your concern: YES YOU WILL DEPLOY. FOR A LONG TIME.
All ASOC units deploy. Right now, all Army units deploy. For a long time.
If you join the 362, you will deploy at least once to an operational Theater ("the war"), and it will be for about a year at a time. 362POC spent a year in Iraq already, and are probably on the block to go back very soon.
The guys who replaced me in Iraq already spent a year in the 'Stan.
PSYOP soldiers, although technically Reserves, will spend an average of 3-4 months a year on active duty even in peacetime due to rotations through JRTC, NTC, BCTP's, etc.
Add in certain other exercises for a month at a stretch, schooling, Kosovo rotations for 9 months, and you can see where this leads: 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer MY ASS!
If you are not comitted, this is not the place for you.

Okay, thanks and happy birthday. I'm waiting on a hearing waiver just now. I can hear it now, "Sorry Doc, you're not qualified to operate the loudspeaker, your hearing isn't up to Army standards."
