To all SBU members,
If a highly motivated, very fit recruit was interested in both SEALs and SBUs what might you tell them to nudge them towards your field. May be mention why you choose to get into it? Did any of you start out or consider SEALs before hand, and if so what made you go the route you did? I appreciate all your input. Thank you.

Sambone,
I volunteer for the SBUs mainly because I had the honor of growing up around one of the five SBU Medal of Honor Recipients, James Elliott Williams. While I admire and respect the Team members I served with greatly, not to mention that the absolute best Officers and most of the senior NCOs I worked for came to the SBUs from the SEAL Teams, I honestly tried to be the best most professional boat guy I could to honor my personal hero, Chief Williams.
I would tell any young man to volunteer for the unit that best matches their interests and capabilities.
Good Day to You!

Thank you for your reply. It certainly sounds like you made the right choice for yourself, hopefully I can do the same.

NCO's? Isn't it PO's and CPO's?
