Hello guys
Trident86 you might know me as Jourdan...you've been getting my emails I assume?
Ok, well I wanted to be a SEAL, but my eyes aren't up to par yet, so I figured since I don't wanna go to college right away, I'd hang out in the Specwar community with SWCC till I am of age to have eye surgery and then once I pass the waiting period, put my Spec. request chit in for BUD/S...
Now I have a few questions....
1) Do boat guys have their own designator pins yet?
2)Where does the training take place?
3) Who are the real deal boy guys on this forum?
Thanks
BB16

SWCC is at coronado the same place as BUD/S just on the NAB side of the base. Yes SWCC have designator pin it's just not minted yet(works are in place also to change the design). I myself can assure i'm the real deal and that also goes for boatguy85. I do have some advice for you if your looking to come to the boat units as a stepping stone for BUD/S i'm not gonna knock it but understand this you will have to complete a full sea tour at the boat unit (5 yrs) before you can go to BUD/S. So you really need to think about what you want because if you come to the boat units you have to put out. SWCC is not a hang out for people waiting to go to BUD/S we have a job to do and take it very serious. this is not some attempt to scare you i just don't want to candy coat shit. come be a boat guy put out and have a kick ass time then at the end of your time if you still want BUD/S then go for it! I will be happy to answer any questions you have about the SWCC program or the Boat Units.

Hey thanks Squall.....
I never knew that about SWCC, but I will take your advice have a kickass time in the Boats... and if I want BUD/S at the end, your damn right I'll go for it
I was wondering if we could start exchanging emails?
Mine is Mickey@specialoperations.com
BTW, I know this is a dumb question, but what does "MINTED" mean?
and is there a site where I could see the designator pin?
How many boat units are there? and where can I find out about the training? Specialoperations.com isn't TOOOO detailed about their training....
Also, I'm right now thinking about either going GM (but I have heard that their closin off this rate to the specwar community for a bit due to a shortage in the Fleet), AO, PR, IS, or OS.... I've heard OS is shitty,..IS is something you really hafta study for, and AO and PR are good rates (from what I've heard from my friend at BUD/S).... I'm leaning more towards GM though.. I hope I'm not sounding like an overeager shit for brains 16 year old wannabe....

Boat Boy,
I have a few questions for you.
1. Are you in the Navy now?
2. What makes you think that you can get into SWCC?
3. How did you hear about SWCC?
I've been in this community for 13 years. 2 SBU's, PC tour, SBR tour so I seen alot of different things. The community has grown by leaps and bounds. People coming into the program now don't realize that up until a few years ago there was no SWCC school. We weren't closed looped, we didn't have a designator, or a detailor. We are just now getting out. Also there is a source rating list for SWCC. GM is a good rate to be in for SWCC. Good luck.

Sambone...
No I am not in the Navy, I am 16 years old, and if I did the math right, I have 23 months till I sign on the dotted line...
I heard about SWCC in some of the books I have on SEALS and I just kinda been learning about them ever since...
I know I can make it through SWCC because there ain't nothin else in this world that I wanna do besides Navy Special Warfare! And I'll die before I ring the bell...

Boat Boy 16,
23 months is a long time. Alot can happen and change. But its good to see that you have goals and are striving to reach them. Another thing that my help you is to go see a Special Boat Unit at work. You will see that it is no joke. We are some of the best operators around. The thing unique thing about a boat guy is that he has to know so much. Not only his jo but other guys too, For example, he must know Communications, weapons, navigation, engineering, medical, basic seaman ship, not to mention how to drive the boat. Then throw in other jobs like load planner, Hazmat, rigger, jump master, armorer, intell and what you get is a highly educated operator. Thats us Boat Guys.
I challenge you, stay in school, join the navy, apply to be a boat guy, go to swcc.
But in the mean time go visit a boat unit.
Good Luck,
Bone

Challenge accepted...you can bet your daughters virtue that I will succeed...
I'm in Indiana, so it'd be kind of hard to visit a boat unit,... but I will see what I can do...
BTW, could I have your email? or if you'd like mine it's Mickey@specialoperations.com

Hey, good luck with your future in SpecWar. Its a good life. What I was wanting to know is where in IN youre from as I am from there. I grew up in Vincennes, then lived in Terre Haute for a while.
