Hi everyone, I need some advice on a very important issue to me-a tactical light for my late Xmas present-a Glock 19, w/ trijicon sites. I have always been in favor of Surefire lights (a nod in my handle) however, the M3 light seems much more compact, and more appropriate on the allready stubby G19. I love the lumens and solid beam of the surefire but like the aesthetics of the M3 illuminator. I haven't been able to locate an M3 around my parts to check out the beam. (I live in the tree hugger land of Berkeley, CA) I would appreciate your POV if you have experience with the M3. Thanks in advance and have a great New Years. Oh yeah-let's hope that we can celebrate the Millennium with our pals Moet and Chandon-not Mr.'s Smith and Wesson!

While I prefer the SureFire, the compactness of the M3 makes it the better choice for mounting on a G19. The M3 is well made and puts out good light so there is no major loss in performance. To keep the G19 as compact as possible you might skip mounting a light and carry a SureFire 3 or 6Z in the off hand. Good light performance and solid in two handed firing plus the light can be used independently.

Thanks MT, I have had experience with a Surefire Combat 6Z but I was just looking for a whole integrated lowlight system to become accustomed to, I would like to only have to holster one item and keep one hand free rather than decide to put away my firearm or the light unit. With a light/gun combo I always have both items available when my primary is drawn. Thanks for the help. I guess I just will have to check out the lumens of the Insight unit. -Shure OUT

Who makes the M3? Any suggestions as to where can I see a picture of it?

hi recce_0;

Insight technology makes the M3 no site they also make the IR lasers and such for the M4A1 carbines plus the new white light systeem for same. They are the mfg for the LAM unit for the MK 23 MOD 0, so they are heavy into mfg goodies for SOCOM. Best place for photos would be in Guns & Ammo or similar magazine they advertise in.

take care and have a Happy New Year...Jim

For recce_0 - Here are a couple links for the Insight M3 http://www.glockmeister.com/newprod.html> I'm sure if you do a search you will find something.
