What's the best side arm of a left-handed shooter? I've heard SIGs are bad if you're a leftie, is this true? How's the 1911s and USPs?

My little brother is a leftie, and he loves the SIG. He shoots a 1911, but with ambi safeties. He uses his trigger finger to disengage the slide release. He hasn't tried my USP yet.
With sidearms, I'm a lefty. With the exception of a 3 year stint with a Sig P220, I've been fortunate enough to carry 1911A1's for the better part of 16+ years.
Erick,
How did the SIG and the 1911A1 compare for comfort and ease of shooting?

I am a south paw and i use the USP and the only modification i had to do was that i changed to left handed safety, but you can get a model which has this in the beginning.
I think that it is an excellent weapon for a left handed.

I'm not a lefty but purchased a HK USP because it was easy to use ambidextously. I've added the ambi safety and can use it eaqually well with either hand. My left handed friends love it. Also, because of short fingers I find it's easiest to hit the mag release with my trigger finger and the HK mag release is one of the better ones for that,in addition to being ambi.

The Sig 220 isn't a bad pistol for a lefty. The mag release can be swapped around, should you be inclined & I could the de-cocking lever with my trigger finger.
However, I admit to being horribly spoiled and will take the 1911A1 over anything else out there. If I were forced (and it would be kicking & screaming) to give up the Govt Model, I'd opt for a USP.
