I am operating under the impression that most of the US military is currently stationed in Iraq, does this assumption hold true for PJ's, or is my assumption wrong altogether?Any help is appreciated..

Why do you want to know?
Nice profile BTW.

As for why I want to know, i'm giving some consideration to joining the Air Force, and Pararescue would be at the top of my list. No real reason as to asking where most PJ's are stationed, just curious. And as for the profile, my apologies, I very recently signed up.

I posted another Pararescue question in the appropriate forum, granted it's only been a day since I posted it, but the forum there dosen't seem to be as active as this one, no replies as of yet.

WSC,
Don't you mean this link:

No, WSC has it correct. By agreement with my friend and fellow PJ Jim Thede, specialtactics.com handles all the questions about getting into Pararescue. His question falls into that category.
Luker: The quick answer is: you are wrong. Lots of AF personnel are rotating into and out of both Iraq and Afghanistan and other parts of the world to help cover the GWOT, but the overwhelming majority are not there at the same time or all the time. Unlike some other career fields, there are no PJs actually stationed there that I know of. There are, and have been for a very long time, several PJs working there for a rotation of 90 or 120 days at a time. Few PJs, have not been to the Gulf at least once if not many times. If your question is really, "will I be away from home most of the year?", then that answer is a resounding "YES". It is not uncommon for our newer guys to be on the road 260 to 310 days a year or more.
