That's back in the stone age, so I suppose that's the recommended weapon of choice? A big fist sized rock, smashed repeatedly into the mug of yer opponent? :)

Why not buy the book and see for yourself. This version is superior to either the 1942 version or the 70s version. If you are interested in combatives, that is. There is no BJJ or MMA contained in it.

I don't think they had rocks back then.

I'd be afraid to see it; I saw one from the 1960's, and the stances it had were hideous. Good stuff with knives, though. I am curious: what were they focusing on in the fifties?

"The June 1954 edition of FM 21-150 contains hard-core instruction in military close-quarters fighting, all illustrated with unique, clear photographs. See how the U.S. Army’s training methods evolved from the previous printing of FM 21-150 – dated June 1942, at the beginning of America’s involvement in World War II – to this edition, released a year after cessation of hostilities in Korea. Contents include the nastiest blows, strikes and stomps to the vulnerable areas of an enemy’s body; aggressive knife attack techniques; the brutal business of silencing sentries; disarming methods for rifles, pistols, knives and bayonets; and practical holds and throws designed to neutralize an enemy soldier quickly and with ruthless efficiency."
