Alright, confession time for the Snake-man:
My Wife has gotten the jump on me. For her Birthday, she bought herself a new sidearm
(And yes, I got her something too). However, this weapon is probably the hottest piece I've seen in a while. I myself have been a 1911-man since way back. Her new piece is a South African import called a Vektor CP1.
It's a steel-slide, polymer reciever 9mm DAO.
It's very curvy, almost organic looking. Now, I aint a fan of the 9mm round, but this baby shoots like a dream. Retails for around $500. I'm going to go get myself one next week. the Girl is never......-NEVER-, going to let me live this one down.....

If you aren't a fan of the 9mm (and who really is), the CP2 is the same pistol, but in .40S&W. Got one. Love it.

The sp1 is the most accurate & reliable 9mm "service" pistol i have ever fired....The cp1 is also great!

Astonishing Snake, that you just discoverd the Vector CP1 recently. Vector makes great guns, and look at the CR 21 (Combatrifle 21) Vector has some pretty good stuff. It's a good deal and the quality is good. (Well... Nobody tops our german H&K however...)

I remember SWAT magazine testing the Vektor a while ago, and it came out as a turd. To be fair, I believe that their pistol was a preproduction weapon, but who knows. I do admit it was sexy looking. I'd appreciate
all the info you guys can come up with.

The CP1 has recently undergone a voluntary recall for unaccptable drop test results. We sold a CP1 not too long ago, and Vektor subsequently contacted us through our distributors regarding this recall. Other than that I'm deaf and dumb as to the reasons for this course of action. I shot it when we got it and wasn't too impressed, but it wasn't a bad gun either, it just came across as a wierd hybrid of operating systems hidden behind a pleasing shape. Either way, it's just my opinion, which dosen't mean much.

Vektor, DENEL has indeed anounced a world-wide recall of the CP1, they are currently busy designing the necessary modifications, as the firearm has reportedly had some accidental discharces where the firearm may have been bumped (not even dropped) in some cases. Vektor, DENEL has requeted that the firearm NOT BE USED until the modifications have been done. In my opinion, it's a piece of crap (seriously), send it back to Vektor and tell them to shove it up their ass (get a refund). If you want a GOOD South African firearm (though it's full size), try shooting the Vektor SP1 (.9mm) or SP2 (.40S&W) - if I weren't leaving for the US on Friday, I'd post some pictures here after having them scanned. We were sponsored by Vektor for days shoot at a range in Pretoria, and it was fantastic. The SP-series are excellent firearms, and we have seen them last and last, we also got to shoot the Vektor CR21 bullpup rifle - it's nice, but it's not a Steyr AUG.
Anyway, my advice, get the firearm replaced, looks aren't everything!
Stay safe - get the wife a SIG Sauer P-239! http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/smile.gif
