Does anybody have info on the Vietnam era MATA course? I can't find much information online and have seen only a few references to the school in my personal library. How long was the course? Where was it taught? (Bragg or Benning?) Who ran it? The infantry school? JFKSWC? Was it specifically geared towards Vietnam bound advisors or did others also attend? How long was it around?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated...

Carl, did you have to attend this course prior to your departure to RVN?

Thanks,
JOE.

Longhorn,

I have a copy of ST 31-179 US Army Special Warfare School Ft Bragg, NC "MATA" Handbook for Vietnam" January 1966 (Revised).

It says
"The material contained herein reflects doctrine as currently taught at the
Special Warfare School and is derived from
material intended for School use. This handbook is prepared for use in the MATA courses of instruction and serves as a ready reference for advisors in Vietnam."
