Anyone know if the 160th is still using 31Cs (25Cs)? I'm stuck in the 3d ID at the moment and I need to get back to SpecOps in a bad way. If any of you has been in the 3d ID you'd know what I'm saying. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
The best person for you to talk to is probably CW4 Starr, he's a 160th recruiter, you can probably Google up his contact info.

I'm a "used to be" 31C. I talked to the about two years ago. Damn, doesn't seem that long ago. They were at that time. I'm sure they still are. If you go to Ft Campbell's website, I'm pretty sure they have a recruiter POC listed with e-mail and phone.
Be happy you're a C. It seems like it leaves you the most options for SOF compared to any other.
I've been out of the loop for a while, so I may be talking out my ass. I'm betting not, though.

CW4 Starr? Sounds good. Thanks for the info. Its still good to be a 31C, but not as good as it used to be. Most 31C positions were done away with in the SF Groups. Might try to get a LRS slot if the 160th doesn't pan out. Not as good as SOF but not as bad as legland either.

Is that the Littlebird pilot that made the landing in the alleyway in Mogadishu to pick up crew from Super 61?

25C's or 25U's, They get a little more radio expierence, but we get the whole enchilada. Going to be a big gust in the winds of change though. They are already consolidating commo MOS's and it will continue. Also we are going to start getting back into HF and other radio systems that were just thrown on the shelf to collect dust, while everyone relies on FM comms.

Are they still training people as 31C's, or have they finally done away with them?

Yep, still training 31C's...Of course I've been out of AIT for a long time. Everything I know now I had to learn from OJT. AIT was useless, other than the HF antenna stuff.

I don't know anything about Mr. Starr except he's a recruiter. The times I've dealt with him he's been very professional and helpful.

Almighty Bones..Malamute DZ...501st?
thanks for the POC info, Im heading out with 1/10 Mountain now, but
did some work with a few from the 160th, very professional,
makes it hard to fly with reg. Army after that..
Im a 15T FI with Hyd. and sheetmetal exp., 1000 hours, 200 goggle..
would my shop exp. limit my chances for a flight slot?
last thing I would want is to end up in TI slot...have to
go to the Q then..
I know is not that much, but want to throw a packet together,
so thanks for the info! I have freinds there, will that help?
gotta work on my swimming though...

Roger on the 501st. Id say your best bet is to actually talk to the 160th recruiter. They will be able to provide you with the most uptodate accurate information.
