Are there specops modified seahawk helicopters on carrier deployments, and if so are they deployed on the carriers or support ships.

D-Boy,
The Navy uses the HH-60H version of the Seahawk for CSAR and Specops. They are usually based on the carrier because of the need to have a CSAR helo ready during flight Ops. I don't think that there are any real modifications to the HH-60H...actually, I believe it's just a SH-60 without the anti-sub electronics. One extra that I think it does have is a boom for lowering rescue swimmers or for fastroping.
Are you interested in Naval Aviation? Here's a cool site: www.airwarriors.com. (http://www.airwarriors.com.) I'm going to take the Officer Selection Battery and Aviation Selection Battery in July. If I get picked up for a Student Naval Aviator slot, I hope to get jets(doesn't everybody), but helos are a close second.

Ack, half of the airwarriors links don't work :/
HCS-5 is one of the squadrons that operates the Seahawk, check out their site at http://www.dnai.com/~hcs-5/

I have a friend in the US who is a Crew Chief and a Petty Officer on board one of the HCS-5's Seahawk helicopters.
I personally live in Australia and I keep in contact with him all the time.
I have more of an interest in the helicopters rather than the jet and CSAR sounds like a buzz.
Good luck with the pilot thing and if you would like feel free to email me any time at austeyr@specialoperations.com
