To All

My first post here and I'm not sure if this is the right category to post in.

Here's my question:

What is the difference between the AH-1W Sea Cobra and the AH-1W Super Cobra. Could the difference be avionics, weapons, powerplant, etc. etc. I've seen pictures refering to the AH-1W using both names so I was just wondering if their is a difference.

Thanks in advance

Aircav,
I don't believe that there's a difference. I think the 'W' designation is the important part. All Ah-1W's are the same( I think)...supercobra vs. seacobra is just semantics. Here's something that might be of interest to you though: www.belltextron.com (http://www.belltextron.com)
Go there and check out the AH-1Z. Looks pretty cool.

The Seacobra was the name for the AH-1T. The early prototype for the W was given the designation AH-1T+ for a while before changing over to the AH-1W Super Cobra. Quite a nifty aircraft but I can't wait to see how the AH-1Z does in service....
