Love this site already. I'm an old (guess I qualify as old now) Marine 2675 - Russian Cryptologic Linguist. '88 - '93.
-spent forever in school in Monterey and San Angelo (seems like forever to a 19 year old),
-stationed at 2nd Rad Bn, 2nd SRIG at LeJeune,
-deployed Ocean Venture '90,
-NSA for 60 days (got me a Joint Service Achievement Medal),
-left for the Persian Gulf on the USS Nassau 8/17/90 and got back 4/15/91 (Oman is a hole),
-ran the RU side of the BN language lab for a few months and helped the Radio Recon guys get their hours (You know who you are. Thanks for the turns on the rappelling tower and fast roping from the Huey in exchange.),
-and finally spent my last year as an 8531 at Parris Island.
And yeah, I miss it too. Atlanta folks, PM me.
