Okay, I know I am going to get grilled by my fellow NCO's but,

If a current 37F was to go to OCS, could he get the PSYOP Branch as a LT?? Is this coming on line in the future?? What about IO or CA??

To expand the question a bit... What about a RC 37F or 38A/B Spc or NCO with an undergrad degree & other experience, what about applying for a direct commission?

What are you asking more specifically? We just had a soldier (E-5) get accepted for a direct commission. His branch will be Signal Corps. The branches to commision into a CA unit are pretty limited and if you dont want Signal,MI or a few others it may be in your best interest to pick a different branch and if you still want to come back to CA do so as a 1LT or above.
Since there is no CA OBC I you can not commission directly into CA. My unit and subordinate ones have been sending 1LT to the CA Qualification Course. I am not sure if completing the advanced/career course was a prereq to going to the CAQC.
good luck

DROB did that, was a 37 then became an O. He can show you the way.

Gentlemen,
37A will be a non accession branch. You will have to have a basic branch, then after completing OBC, PL time, and your career course, you can be a 37A. I am currently at FT Gordon going through SCCC prior to going to RSC and finishing the pipeline.

We had a young SGT in the 361 get commissioned. He was branched MI, and was fortunate in that PSYOP was not considered "out of branch" for him, so he didn't have to leave immediately.

He got to stay and we got to give him shit. :D

Will it be the same for the 38 series (CA) officer branch?

I got a pm on another board from an LT asking how to go about coming over also. At this rate, we might just get up to full strength before I retire. :)
