The 97th Air Force Uniform Board has basically thrown away the Air Force Good Conduct medal. Although it is an unimportant nobody cares give me medal. It does bother me that this is the only award and decoration getting any scrutiny.

I think getting rid of it is a good thing. It is like a basic training ribbon to me. You get it if you graduate, but if you didn't graduate you wouldn't be in the Air Force. So why the medal? More leaves in a salad bowl that is already too big.

Have you seen the Uniform Board Message? The only thing I have seen is the PT Uniform rules.

I have a copy in front of me right now. I don't see it released on af.mil as yet, but you can PM me with your low side addy and I'll forward it.

Let's see...women can't have a flat top, no mess dress pants for female airmen, permanent wear of the Ranger tab or Army combat patch was disapproved, no SERE "arch", no AF rigger badge, lot's of stuff about hair and nails and things like that.

You know what I don't get it that you can wear the beret, badge (Security Forces) and the fire fighter badge, (even if out of that duty), but they won't approve the permanent wear of the Ranger tab or any such tab???

I really don't understand that, if you've BTDT you should be able to have credit for it.

Just my $0.02

What a fuckin joke (thanks Doogie).
The non-deploying staff weenies get a badge though (the much coveted Air Staff Badge).
The zipper suited sun gods will have a camo'd flight suit, same pattern as the rest of us low-lifes (LOL). My guess is the new camo patterned flight suits won't be long for this world.

Have you seen the press article from Gen. Moseley, and what his vision for the new AF utilities?

I couldn't help but laugh (and then cringe thinking of the ribbing I'm about to get from my counterparts) about the new female boots, and that the new utilities will be fitted for females also.

Here's probably why it was decided to get rid of the AF Good Conduct Medal.

AF general to retire at reduced rank (http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123016155)

Hmm, not that any of you guys care, but the latest word from the Pentagon is that SERE gets to keep the arch. Yay for us!

I love the fact that because of that female trouble maker of a colonel, the women are now authorized to wear men's flight caps.

About the only thing I don't get is the whole T-shirt debate with USAF printed on it. Damn things will probably cost $12 a piece.

Just go with traditional brown, black or tan (in SWA) and be done with it.
