Currently, I am working my way up the Navy SEALs Workout (http://www.navyseals.com/community/navyseals/navysealworkout_main.cfm) but it has come to my intention that there are numerous Naval Academy workout programs available online and in books as well as the NASS workout (http://www.stewsmith.com/linkpages/usnapreppf.html)by your own Stew Smith. Which workout program is recommended for a student going to NASS in the summer with the highest intentions of becoming a SEAL after graduating from the Naval Academy? Would it make more sense to train for the SEALs, NASS, or the Naval Academy, or does it not really matter because any of the fitness programs will do. If I could get any input from anyone in the know I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm not speaking for the SEALs, but I'll tell you right now that you can't go wrong with kettlebells. I mean, you still have to do the running and swimming...cause i'm just guessing that you'll be doing that alot. I just feel that with the exception of operational training, kettlebells is the best physical prepreation for combat other than combat itself.
I will not respond to any arguements, this is just my opinion on the subject...to each his own...
Are you talking about just using them in general or are you specificaly refering to The Russian Kettlebell Challenge by Pavel?

Isn't there a forum for exercising in this site?
In any case, he asked for answers from people in the know.
Being that neither of you are current or former SEALs, I suggest you shut it.

No, but I've seen Saving Private Ryan like 20 times. That counts right? :D
What the fuck is a Kettlebell? Sounds like the alarm on a teapot.

Can anybody recommend a specific program? I printed one off from navyseals.com but if there's a better one out there I'd like to know.

This workout (http://www.crossfit.com/) will kick your ass. If you can work up to doing the workout of the day as it is prescribed, you will be in good condition. I did my 2 weeks reserve time last month and a lot of the guys are doing Crossfit. The only problem is that unless you have a crossfit facility nearby, you have to be creative in finding some of the equipment.
