Have any of you in Australia found a store that sells good quality desert boots, that won't break the bank? The standard issue terras are just that. A terror to wear and sub-standard.

Hey Mate,
I do not know how much you want to spend on boots,
You have a couple of options in relation to them. My suggestion is to buy a pair of Scarpa Boots from Paddy Pallin. There are several types I would suggest the Scarpa SL or a Pair of Merrill Hiking boots.

Ditto on the Merrill boots. Never heard of them until the start of the year, when I bought some planning to do a lot of bush walking during a trip to the US.
Ended up wearing those things everywhere.....very comfortable and they weren't overly expensive.

Thanks for the info guys. I ended up picking up some Wellco ACBTTW, from a local importer. They are probably the best price you will find in Australia for boots of this calibre. If you want details just PM me.

What do the Taliban wear? They must have to hump over some serious hills to get from Paki to Afghanistan.
