U.S. Army Ranger Reception and Oral History Program
You are cordially invited to attend the ninth U.S. Army RANGER Reception and Oral History Program to be held Tuesday 18 April 2000,
from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The reception and program offer an opportunity to meet, visit, and share camaraderie with fellow RANGERS from
the Washington area.
The Reception and Oral History Program will be held at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (450 E Street, NW - There is a
parking lot east of the Court House or you can use the Metro/Judiciary Square). Our host, Judge (Ranger) Eugene R. Sullivan, will give a
briefing on the history of the Court and its relation to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be Lieutenant General William F. "Buck" Kernan, Commanding General XVIII
Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg. General Kernan will be speaking about his more that three decades of military experience, with a special
emphasis on "Operation Just Cause," the US military's invasion of Panama in 1989. At that time, General Kernan was the Regimental
Commander of the 75th Ranger Regiment. General Kernan's extraordinary responsibilities and service to the Nation are in the highest
RANGER traditions.
An additional highlight of the evening will be a fire team from C Company, 3/75th Ranger Regiment. These RANGERS will have a static
display of current weapons and equipment used by today's RANGER.
As usual, the Reception and Oral History Program are open to all U.S. Army RANGERS from any era, whenever and wherever RANGERS
have served. Please extend this invitation to other RANGERS. We look forward to having you join us for another enjoyable and informative
event.
