Many of you go or have gone to DLI, and I wanted to throw this out at you if you didn't already know about it. Monterey Peninsula College has worked with DLI directly since about 1995 to provide associates degrees in foreign languages using the language that you take at DLI. Back in 1996, I was able to take 12 *resident* credits via correspondence, etc. while going to DLI and earned two AA degrees fairly easily while there. The 12 credits come from 3-4 classes taken directly from MPC, but in stuff like PT (where you log your PT sessions...a giveaway course) and sociology which involved writing one or two papers and mailing them to MPC (I mailed mine from my next duty station). Other credits can come from the outside...other course work, etc.
If you didn't know about this, check it out at the Ed Center if you ever go to DLI...might as well get something solid on paper that works in the "outside" as well as the "inside" world. Hope this helps you guys...
