For those interested in chest rig, I just received my Posseidon Chest Rig from Sabre Industries(UK). That rig was orinally made for SBS and Australian Special Forces. It's a good quality chest rig. The fastex buckles are not as good as Blackhawk but... Instead of explaining the configuration of it, just go to http://www.sabreindustries.com then go to products, then fighting order. Once there you'll see different models of chest rig. So my word on it, it's a good piece of gear(Camelback compatible) and I like it(better than LBV-88 or H-harness) especially with some modification they have done for me. They do a lot of custom work. If anybody have questions, I'll be glad to answer.

Sorry Sosah, I'm new to those URL link so I might have done something wrong. But it's the good address, might try to enter it manually. Sorry again for the inconvenient.

It should work now.

hey Highlander,

Can you attach a BDU belt to the bottom of the rig? or is that somewhat counter productive?

In the pic they show the large cargo pouches with canteens. Do those ride up front around your rib cage area? I don't know if I could stand that...

To Whammer: There's no attaching point for a BDU belt or a pistol belt to it. But I found it very stable, it does'nt tend to move around the body when running. As for the big utility pouch, it fit very well a 1 quart canteen with cup and cup stand. It does'nt feel uncomfortable but it sure feel strange to have the canteen right on your abs. Since it's not very clear in the picture I'll explain the pouch configuration.
On both side you have 1 adjustable grenade pouch, then 1 big utility pouch with field dressing elastic inside the cover( the cover close with hook& loop + fatex), then on the right side a hook & loop band for anglehead flashlight(left side it's another loop for ?), then you have the mag pouch( fastex + hook & loop(but less)) and 1 small utility pouch(close with a snap) that fit a strobe or compass...
Inside the right zipped pouch you have a pistol holster and a place for a mag(+ d-ring) and ont the left zipped pouch its a elastic band for M203 grenade(mine is modified for shotgun shell)+ d-ring + space for map. On both suspender there's extra webbing(for those who like inverted knife or whatever attachment). In the back(behind the neck), the webbing strap can be used as a drag handle and on the suspender there's fastex buckles for their Hydratation sleeve(that I have too). It fit very tight a 70 oz camelback . I hope those detail help. If you or anybody have questions, just let me know.

So you have to carry mags inside the big utility pouch?

I'm with reece,

Could you go with a custom job and put the 2 mag pouches in place of the utilities and swap them to the backside of the harness?

To recce_o: You can carry mags(lots of it) in the utility pouch but the real mag pouch is just beside.

To Whammer:I really don't know, you should email them. They have a good customer service.

Hope it answer your questions.

Good site Highlander...

Here's an item I've grown to like, the Oz minimi panic pouch, has four AUG/M16 magazine pouches on the minimi 200 rd mag pouch. Has a shoulder strap and belt mounts, so you wear it like a side pack. Can be worn with most chest and vest set ups, or alone without belt. I like to use the main pouch for 7.62X51mm ammo in 20 round boxes plus misc. items and M24 binos. good for going light when combined with one or two 2 qt canteens and carriers. Combine it with a vest/chest rig for more space.

I Like the design of the Posseiden, the front openers are the way to go so you can get them out of the way for prone positions. Take care...Jim

To clarify a few points..

The Poseidon Chest Rig was originally developed for Swimmer/Canoeist Recon guys. The idea being that this chest rig allowed enought carrying capacity in case...

Basicially on each side you can carry -
* 4 x 5.56 mags
* A Strobe/Pressure dressing/He-Frag grenade or compass
* Rations or Waterbotle

Inside the zippered map pocket you can carry
4 x 203 Bombs (right)
Pistol + Mag (Left)

The rig is designed to be used in conjunction with a hydration system.

Sabre Industries also does a Trooper Chest rig which is more intended for direct action special forces ops.

We also do our version of the Australian Minimi Panic pouch. Look under belt kit.
