Need some advice here.. I work with a guy who (when drinking) talks about his Search and Rescue experience in the Air Force. Problem is. I was a Navy guy and I went to the JPRA school out in Va and the only SAR people representing the A.F. were P.J's. Is it possible that a aircraft mechanic got into the goo with some SpecOps folks?

Vague information being presented. CSAR and AFSOC helicopters have enlisted gunners and flight engineers and commissioned pilots crewing them, I fail to see the concern for an exaggerated or fabricated service history claim.

The information is vague because Im just testing the ground here. I was a 5352 SWCC in the Navy so being around SpecOps folks isnt new to me. Ive really got a strong feeling (by the way this kid talks) that he is full of beans.. Like I said.. Just testing the ground.. I would really like to pull the rug on this B.S.'r just want to round up some ammo before I shoot.

If would be difficult to verify much more than of being a PJ or not being a PJ unless there is specific being there doing claims involving a CSAR. Humanitarian and disaster response can involve a lot of people.

Ive got a hard on for this mug because the story is always changing.. for example.. He was in GW-1 as a mech working on stealth fighters.. then he was Scott O'Grady's Mech.. then he is a Navy SAR swimmer.. then he is in a foxhole with a bunch of Airforce guys killin Iraqi's... Yeah I know.. am I stupid for listening? Sure.. but like I said I want to load up on this guy and bring him down... Im just looking for more ammo.

In the ARMY its called a 2A or 2-1, I forget which but it list all your"cool guy" schools and all the places that you have been deployed too and all of your campains that you have taken part in.... Im sure its a simular document in the Navy or Air force...Ask him for it. Ask to see his.."cool guy" pictures..they all have them..that is if you an actually BTDT. If he is a BS King, you will pretty much be able to tell...go with your gut.... Here is food for thought...If this "GUY" is a "been everywhere and done everything" type...he would keep his mouth shut...you know the quiet professional!!!!!!! this guy sounds like a loud mouth bum that reads too many internet sites or watches too much CNN.
My 2 cents

If this guy claims NAVY SAR...ask him what class he graduated from. PM me the name and class number, Ill look into it as I have a good friend that was an instructor for parts of the SAR course and he might know how to check for me.

It all seemed plausible exept for the line
then he is in a foxhole with a bunch of Airforce guys killin Iraqi's. The mechanic part I can see. Cross service training into SAR swimmer might be Kevin Cosner envy, but the part about killing Iraqi's with AF guys in a ditch? How does an ex-mech turned navy SAR swimmer get there?
