Looks like the cover/glass over the optic on the right (Helo's left) is cracked/broken.

Two guys are standing too close to the intake, and two are in the jet blast area... :D

Not sure anything is wrong with the pic...

It appears to have been taken in/at the Army Aviation Museum in the mid 1980's. At that time the collection was stored in an old hanger on Ft. rucker. The tip off is the helicopter located just out of view to the right.

I believe that the GO on the right is Ellis Parker, Commander of the Army Aviation Center in the mid-80's, and that the engine they are standing next to is a donation to the museum, as part of the display for the AH-64.

History buffs may want to try and name the helo just out of view on the right of the pic...

The (Target Acquisition Designation Sight) (TADS) is reversed.

How you noticed that is beyond me. Must be that SEAL observation training :)

Actually there is nothing wrong with the TADS in that old pic. Normally when you shut down that system it automatically stows with the optics inward. For Static displays it looks a lot "cooler" to have the optics pointing outward for everyone to see.

So for maintenance, and cool guy photo ops there is a switch located inside a little panel on the side of the TADS that lets you un-slave the TADS by hand. So in that pic it appears that they have rotated the TADS forward (Vertically), instead of doing the normal thing of spinning the TADS forward (Horizontally).

The FLIR lens in that appears to be cracked, but it is probably just a reflection of the beams in the hanger.

We must be bored.

Or the Picture is reversed??

Nope, look at the reversed picture that Gryfen posted. Now look at the picture BKK posted and his explanation.

If you look at Gryfen's photo, then it is clear to see that the FLIR and LLTV are upside down. The only way to explain the photo is exactly what BKK proposed. IMO

Yeah, that and try reading the sign on the T-200 display.

D'oh.

Just noticed that the badges on the General's uniform would be over the wrong pocket as well.

So, I guess its safe to say it isn't reversed, LOL.

Yes I did notice....

"I've got 5 more hours of training and a recheck next week. Aced my oral exam though, and in the end, THAT is what counts."

He seems to be a bit of geek if he thinks just his oral knowledge is going to make him a good pilot. Dealing with stress, being able to preform while stressed, and being able to recollect some book knowledge during that process "IS WHAT COUNTS" in the end.

It looks like the turret in the BW pic is in the "stowed" position. The TADS is installed backwards (Aft side of turret facing FWD).
