View Full Version : Bio Of Your BUD/s Experience

SealOps

Can someone make like a biography , day by day, about your BUD/S training?

RogueExec
29 November 2000, 16:25
It isn't going to properly describe the experience.....no amount of talk or description will EVER adequately describe that type of intensity.

Yes, it will , but If u don't want to writte it so i will know what i will have to pass trough, ok don't writte it, thx any ways. Originally posted by RogueExec:

No one is going to write something that happened for 6 months (almost 240 days).

RogueExec
29 November 2000, 17:49
Hey, easy bro. I couldn't write about BUD/S anyway, having never gone through it. My point was exactly what Mike was saying...the experiences I DID have would lose something in the translation, that's all. It's like describing what it's like to be a cop....how do you describe hours and hours of tedious drudgery, followed by 45 seconds of abject terror? It's too involved is all I'm saying.

SealOps, I don't mean to jump down your throat, but you do have like...10 topics posted up here recently. This website is a gold-mine of information, and there are plenty of other sites (navyseals.com for one) that give stories and great info.

RogueExec,
Just wondering what affiliation with the Teams you have. You offer a lot of advice and seem to speak from experience, but then I read this from you.

Ok, sorry you all for bothering, if i have like 10 topics here ok, i won't post anymore, i just wanted to know a litle more about SEALs, and it's not the same read info in a site, then talk to diff ppl that know a lot about SEALs.

Guhhhhh....I'm not trying to kick you out. I'm just saying alot of the answers to the questions you asked could be found around the net, and I understand that some of the questions you asked needed more a personalized answer. If you wanna be a SEAL you shouldn't just say "Ok, I'm leaving." The shit is gonna fly in BUD/S, and you just gotta tough it out. Ask all the questions you want, just...you know...make them good ones.

Let's look at it from an Active Duty SEAL position. Would you want the whole world knowing how you train? (especially EVERY daily routine?) I realize your thirst for knowledge- but really everything you need to know (to get a chance at BUD/S)is already out in Movies, Books, TV specials, Magazine Articles, etc....
Granted a lot of it is B.S. but too much is already out in the public eye. Just my opinion.

SealOps
29 November 2000, 21:24
argh.......STFU , im not in BUD/S.
And something else, you said you are not trying to kick me out? then what was that? This website is a gold-mine of information, --=and there are plenty of OTHER sites (navyseals.com for one) that give stories and great info.

HEH want me to go bother ppl in navyseals.com? lol oh man...

You goin through PMS or somethin Ops? Fuckin relax, like BMF said and everyone else, it is a waste of time to write day to day about BUD/S. Same pain and fatigue, different day broken up by running, and oh yeah running and then swimming and then....more running. Besides the instructor staff dont like that type of thing anyway. I knew a guy who was in PTRR and tried to get away with that. The instructors found out who it was(how I'll never know)and ran him into the ground for a week till he quit. Do like everyone else talk to people on here, read, but most importantly dont friggin worry about day to day life. Wont do you no good anyway if you aren't in fuckin shape. GET IN SHAPE!!!then, when you get there worry about day to day.

Sealboy, (and others)

Do what I did. Go to every relevant forum here and click on the ALL TOPICS button. Check through EVERY thread that looks useful, and save them to your computer, using copy-paste. Then read. This will take a LONG time. I did it this summer with a few long nights. It was well worth it. As said previously, this place is a goldmine.

Next, go through Special Operations and read everything that might be useful, including all those previous U.S. missions, unit profiles, foreign units, and etc., and of course, follow all the links and read there too. If deemed necessary, save what's needed to the comp. This is also very time-cosuming. I'm a busy person, it took me almost two months to finish this process.

Or course, always stay on the lookout for good books.

Then, you will be a research guru like me ( http://www.specialoperations.com/ubboard/wink.gif ) and will know as much as possible. Of course there will still be plenty of questions. That's where the BTDT's come in.

Good Luck

Chris

Stratch that 2 months part... that was how long it took me to check out everything on the Special Operations website. I'm still following up the plethora of links. The quest for knowledge never ends...

Remember Gents...

SealOps is a Cuban born immagrant to Peurto Rico, not yet old enough to join the military, and not yet a U.S. citizen. English is his second language. He has desire and exuberance in excess, but it seems that he wants to learn it all NOW !!!!

Remember these facts about him when you read his posts. It may help put his posts into perspesctive.

Frog, I have no official affiliation with the Teams and never have, unless slammin' a buncha brews with a few friends (mostly retired SEAL/SF NCOs) counts. I did time in EST/SRT/CATM in the USAF/USN. Most of my advice comes from age and, hopefully, wisdom --- which has come from making a myriad of screw-ups in life. It was never my intention of coming across as a Team Member. I respect the warrior no matter where he serves or in what venue.

Maztica, just out of curiosity, what questions does SEALops ask that make him so "goddamn stupid"? Like Gunnery Sgt. Hicks said, he's from Puerto Rico so his primary language might be Spanish not English. Why is his manner horrid? I'm not a BTDT but I was just wondering. Also to SEALOps, I think it would be a good idea to read books written by SEALs if you want information on personal experiences in BUD/S. I would suggest "The TEAMS, First SEAL, Rogue Warrior, Combat Swimmer, and Good to Go". I've read all of them and they were all excellent in my opinion.

I agree with you, his question was asking a little much, for someone to whip out a 6 month long diary and post it on the internet, but give him a break, he's just a kid. As for his English, he's from Puerto Rico, and Jesus only has one e in his name, Miss Manners.

He probably should research his questions a little more, but what does it really hurt for him to ask? He's just an inquisitive kid with a few hurdles in his way. If you don't like his question, just don't answer it.

There's no need to use every expletive in the book to describe him. For a second there I thought you were going to tell him to shut his nutrest and lock it up before you ripped his head off and shit down his neck. I did a little internet research myself, and I think I've come up with some posts that rival and perhaps even surpass those that SEALOps has posted.

You're worried about the physical security of the installation? He just wants to know about the course itself, and you're worried about posting sentries?

Is he really that weird to want to know? You probably had a thermometer stuck in the water and made diagrams of the O-Course. You're a resident of CA, he's from PR. He doesn't have the luxury to drive on down to Coronado. As for you, that's a little obsessive to spend your whole vacation worried about water temp and cargo nets.

Given that Rangers, FR Marines, and SEALs are all males, it would probably be best if you didn't fuck any of them. If anyone ever found out, you'd be expelled from the Armed Forces.
This question far surpasses any that I've seen SEALOps post in his brief time here.

I'd try to follow your own advice, except you might need an English-English interpreter to follow it.

>"before posting on here asking questions that so far you havent got bitched at go read a book sometime!"

Grow up. And I thought Cadidiots were bad enough to run away from.

SEALOps, I don't know anything about BUD/S other than what I've seen on the discovery channel, but I would just advise you to work out your citizenship situation, get in great shape, join the Navy, get in better shape, and go in with a positive attitude. I'm sure the course is tough, and an hour-by-hour outline, no matter how much someone would want one, wouldn't be all that much help in the long run. Good luck to both of you, Ops and Maztica, but Maz, you need to grow up.

Jim

I'm just trying to be one of those guys that wouldn't "fuck with a Force Recon Marine," but when I do (God willing), I promise I won't eat any servicemen for breakfast, or any other meal for that matter.

Yo SEALOPS, check out the discovery channels website and order "NAVY SEALS BUD/S Class 234". Closest you can get on video to day to day coverage. Also Dick Couch's book "The Warrior Elite : The Forging of SEAL Class 228" Both are great. Yes I was in BUD/S, Medical drop though...hence my call sign on here. Get both of these.
