At Silverbullet's request, here is the review I posted on another website.
I just finished the first BW High Risk Security Operations class. IMO I feel it is the best class that I have attended at BW, to date. The average day was 0730 to 2300 and we easily covered two weeks worth of material. For the newby it is a great introduction to HRE security. We touched on just about every aspect of the field including first aid, shooting, combatives, foot formations, convoys, motorcades, advances, surviellance, driving, etc. Obviously we only scratched the surface in most areas due to time restraints but the beginner definetly will get a glimpse at how diverse the work is. We did very little class room, mostly doing hands on training. My personal favorite was formation driving with NVGs. The day of driving, is basically a three day driver course but with fewer repetitions, again due to time restraints.
If you decide to go, be prepared for long days and make sure your weapons handling skills are solid as there is no time for remediation. We did lose one guy for being a knucklehead. Overall it was a fun and educational seven days.
