The International Peace Operations Association (IPOA) and American University’s Peacebuilding & Development Institute (PDI) present a 2-Day certificate course, “Humanitarian Conduct & Enhanced Operations.” The course will take place on American University's campus in Washington, DC on April 26-27 2007.
Goal of this Course:
To provide private contractors with additional tools in and understanding of international humanitarian law, NGO/IO interaction, cultural, gender, & religious mapping, and the ‘operationalization’ of ethical field guidelines.
What will you get out of the Course:
-2 Days of training by field experts (including ½ day simulation)
-Enhanced ability to interact with other key actors in complex contingency operations

The cost of the course is $955 (early-bird) for independent contractors (1099s). Cost includes all course materials and fees, as well as breakfast and lunch on both days.
