I had the privilage and honor to meet and work with Gen. Davis when he was the head of the Korean War Veterans Memorial advisory board back in '94-'95.
He was a hell of a guy and I am proud to have known him.

Gen. Davis and me at the foundery in New York where the statues were cast.

General Davis visited Parris Island when I was in boot camp, and addressed our company. He was very humble and inspiring to say the least. I was surprised that he died just a few years later because he seemed years younger than his actual age. Rest in peace, sir, you earned it.

I was down at Stone Mountain with my pipe band for the highland games back in fall of 2001. Gen Davis came up to us and we chatted for a while. We had no idea who he was until he asked to take a picture with us. He hands me the MOH and asks me to help him put it on. Needless to say I was in awe and even more so when I read the citation about what he did to earn it. RIP Sir.

If you are ever get in Atlanta go to the “Patriot Museum”. They have a section devoted just to MOH recipients and General Davis helped set the museum up. They have a section just on him.
