I was wondering if anyone has worn the TAD soft shell jacket or the SORD Hardface from SORD Australia. Thanks in advance.

I have a 'Hardface' from SORD. Excellent design, workmanship and material. Simple , basic and effective. I highly recommend it.

No worries.

Thanks for the info folks. I really like the TAD. The SORD is nice, but I don't want to pay shipping from Australia. If they had a US distributor, that might make a difference.

Is the the TAD made in the US? I have been licking my lips for sometime now I just hope it's made here! I'm getting tired of not seeing anything that puts food in the mouth of our future soldiers.

I was able to get one of these, I really like it, It's TAD and I am really impressed. I had only seen the other versions and I think this is a step above what I have seen. Now I just need some cool weather.

Only drawback is the demand vs. the supply issue, No new size's until winter 07' and with that comes a change in design, per TAD. The stuff is still great to wear and very nice looking.

I've got one of TAD's range hoodies. Construction appears to quite solid. Sizing was correct. Haven't had a chance to really stress it. It is warm enough.

The only change I'd make is to replace all of the black zippers & zipper pulls with ones that match the body color.

I have the Gen II stealth hoodie. Bottom line is it's great jacket. I had huge issues w/ customer service in that the jacket was back ordered about 1 month at the time I ordered it and decided I could live with the delay. Well, one month turned into two then three then six months. I got the jacket in April 07 after ordering it in Nov 06. Each time I called they gave me the run around saying ..."Just another month away...you should get it". THE SIZING RUNS SMALL!!!! So if your are on the border in sizes do yourself a favor and without question order the next size up. HTH.

I picked up the TADGear stealth Hoodie Saturday. They are HQ'd in the SOMA in San Francisco, my town, and I boogied down there as soon as I got the email newsletter saying they just got them in.

Spoke to a employee and in this version (2.5) they tried to order more size Smalls and Mediums, since those tend to move quickest.

some notes:

-As of this moment they have the 10th Anniversary Stealth Hoodie in Grey in stock, but they are going to dry up quick.

-These jackets are the real deal. MADE IN THE USA!! I sold both of my NorthFace shells and picked this one up because of the features and materials.

-The Gen 3 version is coming this fall so if you missed this batch, you have something else to look forward to.

-If you are waiting for the shells, I strongly recommend you guys sign up for the newsletter on their website. They send one out once a week and that's how I found out that the 2.5s were in stock.

-The Rhino Hide material they use soft and comfortable, but can take a licking. I bought it Sat, hiked on Sun and jacket was always comfortable and rugged.

-Their FASTPAK ruck is coming out soon. They had a prototype on a chair and customers were welcome to check it out. That thing is shaping up to be the shit.

I know I sound like a shill, but I can't recommend this jacket enough. I have been going too many years wearing civilian crap that wasn't as functional the gear I used in the military. But I balked at sporting my miliary outerwear because I didn't want to look like a wannabe jackanape in the city. You can wear TADgear clothing and not look like idiot, while at the same time know that this jacket was designed with the military in mind. Patrick the owner is a great guy, I just walked thru the door and took time to rap with me for almost 15 min. PM me if you guys got questions or I'll post pics if you want.
