Ordered a couple of DragonDoors Russian Red 16kg - 24kg KB's a few weeks ago. They were about 20.00 cheaper and are of much better quality than my previous standard black set. The red paint is sweet and the bottom is much bigger and flatter. If any of you are into them, it is a good deal and a good piece of gear. The bad part is they are still heavy.

Hehehehehehehe! :D A few weeks ago I was talking to the sales rep from Perform Better, and he told me that if you order from an address in another part of the country the shipping for kettlebells is way more than the actual cost due to their weight.

Incidentally, Perform Better makes a nice set of Kettlebells that are rubber coated so they don't scratch up home surfaces...

See man.....I thought about coating mine with that rubber stuff that you can buy to coat tools with a couple of years ago. So when it rolled around in the back cab of my truck, but i figured that it still weighed 16kg...and would just go "thunk" instead of "bang". I bet real rubber works well.....speaking of home surfaces...........1230 am on Wednesday is NOT the time to miss a catch and have your 16 hit the new 2nd floor oak hardwood floor...! It left a 1/2 dent and sounded like a thermo nuclear bomb went off.......scared the shit out of the wife, the kids, the dog.....me

It was about 6 in from being dead in the middle of the room. I had extra material left over from when I put it in (glad I measured wrong).......Yeah I am sure the look on my face was funny.....I felt like I was 10 again......My wife was pissed.......the first thing she said was "what did you break"......"What were you doing and why were you doing it at midnight....are you stupid?" not "are you ok" "did you hurt yourself".......all I could do was stand there, sweat and look stupid and shrug my shoulders...I think I even said "I dont know......" And the whole time she was berating me my Jeff Martone DVD was playing on the big screen......she looked at it......looked at me shook her head and walked out. Haaaa. It is funny now.....

tacticalathlete.com CONSUMER ALERT

I ordered a H2H kettlebell video a couple of weeks ago...it arrived on time and in good order. From the get go the DVD skipped the first 20 -15 seconds of the demo....I contacted H2H just so they were aware.....I wasnt to concerned because none of the actual circuit was missing...just a few skips and such. They not only sent me a new DVD priority overnight but enclosed two new releases as well......

They seem to have the customer at heart and did well by me. I would recommened them to others for training equipment.

Instructables.com is a pretty cool website. Here's a page on DIY kettlebells.

That would not be merciful to the callouses.

When the old unit rip'ped out of here, the kettlebells went out with them. I've just been using a 45 pound plate since then. It'll make sure you're working your legs, otherwise you bang your knees.

Friend of mine in VBC has the lead shot filled one. Seems nice.

The guys at the BDOC last night had the one you put together with various plates. It worked pretty good too.

I have 2 things to add:

1) The rubber coating...SUCKS. It catches your arm hair. At 1st, it's not bad, "Hmm, sticking a little to my arm during cleans" after 10-20 reps, more like "MF is like a constant indian burn!"

2) I've been ordering my last several from lifelineusa.com. Well made bells, virtually identical to my original dragondoors, $20-$30 cheaper tho.

DISCLAIMER - I haven't ordered from DD in a couple years, or even checked their current prices. Once I got the better deal with lifeline, I stayed. I've ordered from both tho.

You could always wax. Then it only hurts every few weeks.

That, of course, was my FIRST course of action. Couldn't figure out the wax routine (stick, rip, etc), so I melted that plastic coating til it was gooey and started doing snatches. That took care of the hair prob!
