The Liberator Tactical Light http://www.first-light-usa.com/liber...PRODUCTS_NAV=1 (http://www.first-light-usa.com/liberator.php?ID=51&PRODUCTS_NAV=1)

Ok, so last week I attended ILEETA 2007 Confrence. Great time. While there I took the Liberator Tactical Light Instructor Course.

First off, let me state that this is not the end all, be all of tactical lights. What it is, is a light that is well thought out and makes shooting with a flashlight much easier.

I am impressed. I was able to shoot, reload, tap/rack/bang with no issues and no need to put down or juggle the light. Also let me to do a search without pointing my weapon (Rifle or pistol) at everything including "flaging" the other instructors yet still keeping both hands in contact with the weapon.

I will not stop having a surefire on my "gear" but I do plan on getting one of these too. They should have one out soon that will also have an easy strobe feature on it as well.

It does cost a few duckets more, and they are looking into lowering the cost, but so you know, one of the reasons why it costs so much is that it is all USA made.

Check the vids out..... any questions, ask.

SgtUSMC,
I read your post, and was curious.... Why would you not have a surefire on your rig? I have the Insight M6 on my USP 40 and I havent read any major downers to insight/surefire. I'm not trying to poke the hornets nest, but am just curious to hear from someone that has used them in the 'thick of it'.
Thanks
Steve

There is nothing wrong with having a light on your weapon... pistol or rifle/carbine..... but at the same time, that should not be your only light source right? and haveing a light that HAS to point the barrel of your weapon everywhere you want to see is not the best either. I have a light on both pistol and rifle but the Liberator lets you have that second option yet still lets you do things with both hands.

But again, as I said above, its not the end all, be all either.

Do you have a link to the light you're talking about, or should I just google it?

So you rotate it by grabbing the handle/battery case? Looks pretty cool and functional. I like the breakaway handle if the bad guy tries to grab it, it wont hang you up.
Thanks for the info
Steve
