Are you looking because you want to teach or learn?

If you are wanting to learn the basic hand-to-hand combat techniques that the Corps teaches, try and acquire a Marine Coprs BST (any Marine you may know will have one). If you prefer videos, there are all kinds of videos on the internet for all types of martial arts. Make sure you reference them with someone, because alot of that stuff out there is B.S.

You also might want to try a military book store, because they sometimes carry field manuals that the Marines, and Army instructors use.

First, you have to look at your audience. If you are instructing an elite organization, then you have to take into consideration that these men already are mentally strong and are going to do whatever it takes to survive. So with that on your side, all you have to do is teach them how react under pressure without thinking. Otherwise you are going to have to work on all the mental aspects along with the physical.

Secondly, with an elite unit you are not going to have to do little things such as build their bodies up physically. They will already be in excellent physical condition.

Thirdly, find their personal strengths and what works best for them. If they don't feel comfortable with a certain counterattack than have them do another one. If the individual does not feel comfortable doing something, it will not be beneficial.

Fourthly, since your time is probably limited, take the skills they already possess and have them apply that to a form of martial arts. For example, kicking a soccer ball, everyone knows how to do it and it feels very comfortable, this can be a style of kicking that they will not have to learn.

Also, use the KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid)method. Never try and teach futile items such as how to kick someone in the head, and also try and use the same technique for all situations (unarmed v. unarmed) and (unarmed v. armed).

I could go on and on, but remember who your audience is and try to teach them something that is simple and easy to remember.

Oh yeah, the BST will just provide you with the basic LINE technique that the Corps uses, not all together futile, but not too strong of technique either. If you want any other information I will try and help, just email me.

I assume you mean me, sometimes submissions are the tool of choice. I personally prefer to break something like a collarbone or arm to prevent further resistance and then control the subject.
