Freaking great mags and good price. I have an order in with Magpul for the ones with the built in windows for round count. Won't be shipping for a few weeks according to them. My boss has the no windows ones and they are, by far, the best mags we've ever used. Much better than the HK mags (equal or better reliability, less weight) or rebuilt GI mags with magpul followers.
There's some video torture test of the P-mag floating around on youtube or simmilar site. Basically, kick the crap out of the mag, keeps on working.

I just wanted to bump this old thread to see if there is anymore feedback on them. I'm wondering if they're worth bringing with me on deployment, a family friend gave me a box of them...

mottbomb,
I assume that you are MIL so how you get them in/ out of country won't be an issue. Yes, these magazines are the shit. They blow disposable aluminum mags out of the water as well as the H/K mags. I picked up some while I was on R/R and used them exclusively on my "range days". They are getting very good reviews across the board and for the price they can't be beat.
BRING THEM! Best mags I've ever used. They come with me to the box. Beat the hell out of USGI mags and the window is helpful. Feed everyime and seat everytime on a closed bolt. In my experience, on Bushmaster rifles the bolt tends to hang up on USGI mags when you lock and load. Never on PMAGs.

Sounds good, thanks for the feedback. I've used them at the range here with no issues, I just wanted some info from downrange. They're going with me.
Why would you ship them instead of bringing them over with you? This is my first deployment so I've never been overseas. I am AD Mil.

If you’re a contractor you will come thru Dubai, Jordan, Kuwait or Beirut. It is illegal to have Mags or any other weapon related part with you. Not to say that many have gotten thru. The customs in those countries will confiscate them.
If you’re Mil is not an issue.

Mott,
Since you are active duty MIL you won't have any problems. Just stuff them in your kit and forget about it. For us sleazy contractors it's a whole other world having to deal with customs. From my experience passing through enroute to Iraq is usually not a problem. However, leaving Iraq heading back stateside is where most of the shit occurs.
Last time I went through Jordan I had a few misc. items with me. After a little back and forth they let it all go no problem. Unfortunately for us mailing stuff can be a PITA as well depending on which APO you go to and the person behind the counter at the moment.

The only drawback we had with our pmags was one that took a direct IED hit- the mag exploded, lacing a soldier's legs with additional shrapnel. Then again, his whole m4 was wrecked too. On the plus side for it, the part of the mag that did not disintegrate was still locked into the mag well.

Wouldn't the same have happened with H/K steel mags or G.I issue crapaluminum mags? I would think so.

Would they have exploded, probably. I'm pretty sure the crappy issue ones would have fell out of the mag well, hk's might or might not have. Don't get me wrong, my lead mag was a pmag for the last 7 months, it was reliable as hell. Never once did I have a failure to fire when my gun needed to go boom. I was just throwing that info out there since the video of the chevy driving over it was brought up.

Somehow equating a PMAG being run over and a PMAG getting nailed by an IED don't seem to be on the same level to me. But hey, who knows?

They are fantastic mags. However, they are great people too. I arranged for some companies to adopt the 4-1BCT PSD last Christmas and donate goodies. Magpul shipped 7 mags for EVERY person, absolutely free. That's good stuff right there.

Rotor Strike,
Please tell me how you went about this. There is an EOD unit here that is really hurting. They were only issued 7 mags per and most of them had seen better days. Only some of them have optics, even though they have 4 ACOG's in the armory that the 1SG won't let them use. I have donated some stuff from my stash here, but when to do more for them.

I used to prefer HK mags over all others but PMags trump them all the way around and are about 1/3 the price.

No, why do you ask?
Because your profile indicates you are a mil/LE supplier.
You also have not made a proper intro in the designated area.
