Judo School in 1960s-1970s

While reading on the Vietnam War, I have repeatedly found reference to “Judo School”. Was that one specific institution, or were there several (I am particularily interested in Army and Navy ones). Where where those located? What where the official designations for the schools respective the course (Combative Measures?)? Which style(s) were taught? Surely not “standard” sports judo? How long was a normal course (8 weeks to 320 hours?) Thanks for any information or pointers to further reference.
