...for the masses
1. "Chariots of the Dammed, Helicopter Special Operations from Vietnam to Kosovo" by Mike McKinney and Mike Ryan. I have read this one and besides the little bit of detail that they give of some recent Balkans missions I am dissappointed in the book. One of the authors, Mr (Capt at the time of the writting) McKinney is a MH-53 jock and due to that I thought the book would have more of a helicopter driver slant to it but I found it more of a general history read more than anything. Perhaps it was due to the fact I read most of the books they used as references I felt they missed some key points.
2. "Killing Pablo" by Mark Bowden is out and I have yet to open this one. Obiviously this one is about the hunt for and death of Mr Pablo Escobar, one of Colombia's most well known Narco King Pins. For those that don't know Mr Bowden wrote Black Hawk Down.
Since both were bought here in England from Borders book store they shouldn't be too hard to find or even available via Amazon.com
* I am anxious to see if any PAVELOWers have read the Helo book and what they think.
