Roy Farran saw it all- the early desert fighting as a tank commander, wounded and captured in the battle for Crete, escaped from a German POW camp in Athens, led a squadron of 2 SAS Regt in Sicily, Italy, France and back in Italy again, head of a special undercover unit of the Palestine Police, on trial for murder - this is one hell of a story. I'm not sure if it is available , it was reprinted several years ago; my copy is from 1949. Get hold of it if you can.
