Written by a correspondent for THE TIMES fo London who lived in Bosnia during the recent struggle. This book centers on the battle between the Serb, Croats, and Muslims, while not a SOF story it is one of the best I've seen in describing war as it really is. He writes from first hand knowledge from being in the sniper's hide with the sniper in the towns and countryside of Bosnia not from retold stories after the fact.

A good read about Bosnia and war in general, very graphic and at times painful. But at all times truthful, they're all in here the real soldiers, mercanaries, drug addicts, brutes, murderers and racists all the players in war and the victims. Along with the feelings and emotions from the massive overload of your senses that result from war.

Take care...Jim

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the heads-up on Loyd's book!

Last night, I picked-up "Blackjack-34" (previously titled No Greater Love) by James Donahue. I think it will be as good or better than "Blackjack-33. As you probably know, I did my tours in the same general area and fought several elements of the 9th VC Division, i.e., 272 and 273 VC/NVA Regiments.
I think this book covers the Blackjack-34 mission just prior to the battle at Loc Ninh (30 Oct to 4 Nov 1967). The 273 NVA/VC Rgt. left approx. 1,000 bodies after over running part of the Loc Ninh camp. Have you ever been to Loc Ninh, Quan Loi, Bu Dop, or Song Be? Did your Mike Force reenforce Loc Ninh in 1967?
