Anyone use this for carry (holster with .45, cuffs, two mags) and how does it compare to leather for stiffness/comfort?

I haven't, but I doubt it's meant to replace a 'duty belt' type rig- with holster, cuff, mag, radio, etc..

I'm sure it could handle hanging a drop leg type holster, and mag/utility pouch.

Definately a BEEFED-UP 'trouser' type rappel belt. The nylon is probably top notch and rigid, but non-reinforced on the edges which will eventually wear down in time.

Actually I keep a drop leg (6004)-four mag pouches on one for weekly training, easy on, easy off....also hangs in my closet with a Wilson CQB 1911 RTG. They make two, the wider is the one I use (instructor/operator??).
Also you can slap it on over uniform or jeans in about 10 sec. Had it for awhile no worries as far as
durability.

I wear one quite a bit. Have hung a 6004 and mag pouches off of it with no problems. Much thinner than most of the rigger-type belts out there. Surprisingly stiff for being so thin. I have zero complaints. I no longer use either of my Blackhawk belts.

I have used the 5.11 Operator belt on a daily basis for the last 90 days and I can report that this belt has held up very well.

I use it carry a Yost-Bonitz 1911 in a OWB Galco SSS holster with a double mag carrier on the weak side.
No issues whatsoever.

I also use it to carry my HK P7 using a Sparks IWB holster. Again. No issues.

While its not ideal for rope-ops (like the TAG, Blackhawk, etc) it makes one hell of a gun belt.

I was running one for awhile and it held up great. I hung a 6004, one mag pouch, a light and a "kong" pouch (dog toy). It was much stiffer then my TAG riggers belt and didn't roll at all. The end did fray a little bit but I just hit it with a zippo and it was gtg.

I wear a G22 and Taser on the narrow one just about every day. They are more rigid and sturdier than the Blackhawk belts. I highly recommend them. I did have to exchange my first one as it was too wide to fit my duty holster.

I use one daily. I have a G19 with 4 mags and light. No complaints. I have one in each color.
much better than the Blackhawk belt. Stiffer.
My .02 cents.

Well, never used that belt in particular...$35 for a rigger belt that looks to NOT be made in America, NO THANKS personally.

But...being finally in my lane as a ginuine Rigger and all :)...

I would suggest a Original SOE rigger belt. MADE IN AMERICA, lifetime warrantee, bombproof construction.

AND.......$35 as well...win/win

This one is my fav.http://originalsoegear.com/cobrabelt.html

The reason I like his stuff is, I couldn't make it better myself, very stiff, but won't eat into your side, holds holsters well (double layer), easy to thread, etc...

Consider getting the cobra model, it's SERIOUSLY worth the extra $25 for quick release ($60 total). You could waste about a year of your life getting into and out of these things for shits otherwise. Ruining several pairs of pants too:o

And one more thing, being a rigger I seriously distrust the look of the 5.11's "emergency rappel ring", The wilderness belts use actual parachute equiptment (the leg strap buckles from the T-10/MC1-X parachute harness). I made one in the shop before I ever saw a wilderness belt, on the other hand, these things have "5.11 tactical" molded right in to the "metal" (how covenient:(), to let you know right off the bat its not official "life saving equiptment".

My advice is run.

Just my .02:)

Not sure if the 5.11 belt is sold as a rappel aid. Just as a sturdy belt to hang you equipment on. I also have a Blackhawk belt with the rappel ring and it says it is not sold as a rappel aid.

That is because they (5.11 and blackhawk!) are selling CRAP and afraid of lawsuits.

If a Rigger belt is properly made, out of drop equipment etc, it will literally rip you in half before it breaks...

Trust me on that!

That said, it may not be good for your back to rappel with a rigger belt, and thats why this feature is generally called "emergency rappel".

Anyways, 5.11 tactical sucks ass, they make their stuff in Cambodia and give it a "made in America" price, and it sucks ass.

I am sure it will tear the belt slots on you pants before it rips you in half and you will have to hold the belt under your arm pits.:D :D

But as a duty belt for holster, magasine pouch, baton and flashlight carry, I am sure all of them are sturdy enough ( 5.11, Blackhawk, etc)
If I want to rappel I will get a rappel harness or make a Suisse seat.
Now if your preferences are to buy American, than I agree with you and we should check the "made in" tag before spending the money.

IMHO

I dont know where their stuff is made, but I have a shit load of 5.11 stuff as they were a corporate sponsor of the competition team of my old agency. But, I can say that I have never had a bad piece of gear or clothing from them. To each his own I guess.

When a SF or SEAL Rigger steps up to defend 5.11, I'll shut up about them sucking, until then you are stuck with my REMF ass.

LOL.....I think he was referring to the term "Operator", as in the operator belt.

And I guess I dont qualify to defend them since I'm not a rigger, SF or SEAL. :)

They are good people though, and have been good to both myself and my old Team.

And here I thought he was crackin on me:p Sorry rgrjoe, its been a long day.

Maybe I'm just a little sensitive about all the REMF jokes, being around all you high speed types makes me nervous.

I was saying to myself, "Rangers have to answer phones too, right?":)

Instead of starting a new thread, figured I would add to this one.

I'm looking at getting a Original S.O.E. Gear Duty Belt (picture in link below) and was not sure what size to buy. I have a 34 inch waist and wanted to know how adjustable they are. If anyone uses this belt I would like to get some feed back on it. Was thinking of getting it in 38 inches or should I get a larger size?

It looks pretty close to the Blackhawk duty belt. I had to go smaller rather than larger with that.

Not a bad belt- got mine for free when I bought 2 pairs of 5.11 trousers.

I used to work for the phone company- can I call myself a former operator?
